Working to actively include social justice, anti-racist, and anti-Islamophobic curricula and educators in our schools. 

Purpose

  • To confront discrimination, implicit bias, and institutional racism by discussing issues that Muslims experience in public schools in order to create a more equitable society.

  • To create a platform that confronts the issues Muslims experience in public schools

  • To develop a network for Muslim educators

Goals

  • Centralize resources and examples of culturally responsive materials that address the lack of diversity in teaching about Muslim identity

  • Address the need for teacher training in bias, intersectionality, and social justice through professional development services

  • Assist Muslim educators in navigating through public schools

  • Organize workshops on how implicit biases can negatively affect teacher-student relationships
